Football | Gonzales, Greenfield picked for All-League
Gonzales High School placed seven football players on the Pacific Coast Athletic League’s Santa Lucia Division All-League first-team, while Greenfield High Bruins had three players chosen first-team offense and one player voted first-team for defense.
Bruins face Breakers in final league games
After two blowout games with the Marina Mariners the Greenfield Bruin baseball team will conclude the regular season with an away and home series with the league-champion Pacific Grove Breakers.

The Greenfield High boys basketball is 0-10 in the Mission Trail Athletic League as they lost three games last week to Soledad, Pacific Grove and Oakwood.
Anzar Hawks no match for Greenfield Bruins
The Greenfield Bruin baseball team scored 12 runs with six hits in a home game, and banged out 12 hits in another to win on the road in a two-game series with the Anzar Hawks.
All-League teams announced
Adrian Lopez, a senior infielder and pitcher for the Soledad High baseball team was chosen as the Mission Trail Athletic League Player of the Year in a meeting of league head coaches.

South County football players took the field for one last time high school players last Friday at the 33rd Annual All-Star High School Football Game at Rabobank Football Stadium in Salinas. Six players from Soledad, two players from Greenfield, two from King City, and one from Gonzales High participated in the game.
South County teams start season
Sportsmanship basketball games were played last week to kick of the season by the Soledad and Gonzales boys teams and the King City and Greenfield girls teams.
Greenfield wins league home game
The Greenfield boys basketball team won their first league home game of the season last week, downing the Trinity Christian Warriors 64-51.
Football | Pirates edge out Bruins, 22-21
With momentum on their side, the Greenfield Bruins went for a win instead of a tie, but a pass for two points in the end zone fell incomplete, resulting in a 22-21 Santa Lucia Divisional loss against Robert Louis Stevenson in Pebble Beach.
South County teams complete league season
The regular season ends this week for local high school volleyball teams as Mission Trail Athletic League games were played on Monday and today. King City has two games remaining and will be seeded on Saturday in the Central Coast Section Division IV Playoffs.
