Barsenas to lead Bruins

Greenfield High School 2004 graduate Adam Barsenas has just completed his first month as the new head football coach for the Bruins. The 32-year-old Barsenas wants to revive the football program as they enter the newly formed Pacific Coast Athletic League.

4 students to sign national letters of intent

The Palma School Athletic Department will host a ceremonial Letter of Intent Signing on Friday, May 5, at 11:45 a.m. in the Steve Clayton Memorial Gym.

Teams excel at jamboree

The South County Jamboree proved to be a success for local high school football teams in terms of preparing for upcoming season. With King City, Soledad and Gonzales facing non-league opponents this week and Greenfield starting play next week, the jamboree served as way for teams to access their progress.

Emily Espino to play ball in San Diego

Emily Espino, the 19-year-old daughter of Lorenzo and Denise of King City will be continuing her education and softball playing at San Diego Christian College next year after signing a Letter of Intent last week at Hartnell College.

King City senior distance runner Roman Munoz scored 30 points in three events to lead the Mustang to a fifth straight Mission Trail Athletic League championship on Saturday at Pacific Grove High School.

The Soledad Lady Aztec softball team won two of three league games to improve to 6-4 in the Mission Trail Athletic League.

Jamboree kicks off South County football season

The football season begins Friday for South County high schools at the South County Jamboree at War Memorial Stadium. The jamboree will kick off at 5 pm with a JV jamboree followed afterwards by the varsity jamboree.
