Volleyball teams kick off season this week
The King City, Soledad and Gonzales High School volleyball teams began non-league games this week to kick off the season.

On June 15 students from Carrillo’s Karate Studio took exams to improve their rankings.

South County football players took the field for one last time high school players last Friday at the 33rd Annual All-Star High School Football Game at Rabobank Football Stadium in Salinas. Six players from Soledad, two players from Greenfield, two from King City, and one from Gonzales High participated in the game.

King City High School 2012 graduate Matthew Flores has just finished his senior year at Salem International University in Salem, West Virginia.

The Greenfield Bruin baseball team lost 2-1 in extra innings to the host Half Moon Bay Cougars on Saturday in a non-league game.
Greenfield optimistic despite setbacks
Three losses at the North Salinas Bob Steinbach Classic did not dampen the optimism of Greenfield’s first-year head coach Adam Barsenas. The Bruins fell to 1-7 with one non-league game remaining to play.

The seven on seven passing league for South County high school football teams start today at 5 pm at Soledad High School.
Bruins shut out by Breakers
The visiting Pacific Grove Breaker football team blanked the host Greenfield High Bruins, 23-0, on Friday to spoil the home coaching debut of Greenfield varsity head coach Adam Barsenas.
