The King City High School football team opened the regular season with a 37-20 setback against the Monte Vista Christian Mustangs last Friday night in Watsonville.

The Greenfield boys basketball team won their first league home game of the season last week, downing the Trinity Christian Warriors 64-51.

Pacific Grove Breakers rout Bruins, 66-40

The host Pacific Grove Breakers scored in double digits every quarter to overwhelm the Greenfield Bruins boys basketball 66-40 last Tuesday night on the Monterey Peninsula. The Breakers improved to 3-0 in the Mission Trail Athletic League and the Bruins dropped their third straight league game.
