Realignment begins next fall for local teams
Change is coming next fall for local high school athletic teams as 33 schools that make up the tri-county area will be realigned to form new divisions as part of the Pacific Coast Athletic League (PCAL).

Football | Bruins down Grizzlies, 37-35
Greenfield Bruins placekicker booted a nine-yard field goal with time running out to give his football team an exciting 37-35 Santa Lucia Division win over the host Pajaro Valley Grizzlies on Friday at Cabrillo College. Greenfield (2-1 in league, 2-5 overall) overcame a double-digit deficit to down the Grizzlies (0-2, 2-4).
Greenfield leads MTAL soccer
Two wins last week earned the Greenfield High girls soccer team the first place spot in the Mission Trial Athletic League with a 3-0 record.

Led by the double-digit performances in kills and assists by Grace Shepherd and Megan Flores, the King City Lady Mustang volleyball team defeated the North Salinas Vikings and Seaside Spartans to improve to 3-0 at the start of non-league play.

The competition was tough for local high school cross country runners at the 23rd Annual North Monterey County Earlybird Invitational Cross Country Meet at Toro Park on Saturday.
Hit Squad plays two games in Temecula
The Monterey County Hit Squad ended the spring football season on Friday with games against the Arizona Bandits and the Arizona Rams. The Hit Squad featured five players from Greenfield and is a member of the American Youth Football League.
