Police locate inmate who walked away from Salinas Valley prison 

A California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation inmate who walked away from the minimum-support facility at Salinas Valley State Prison on Aug. 2 was apprehended Saturday morning in Linda, in Yuba County.

Farmworker dies in accident on Old Stage Road

A farmworker from Salinas died early Wednesday morning in a tractor accident on private property near the intersection of Old Stage Road and Chualar Canyon Road in Chualar.

Greenfield man sentenced to prison for strangling his child, beating ex-wife with ladder

Kirk Salisbury, 52, of Greenfield was sentenced Oct. 19 to four years in prison after entering pleas of no contest to felony child abuse and felony domestic violence.
