Jane Christine “Chris” Magallon

Jane Christine “Chris” Magallon, age 62, passed away Saturday August 19, 2017 surrounded by family. She was born on October 13, 1954 in Rushville Indiana to Dixie and Norma-Joan Mullin, she was one of six children. Chris attended Indiana University and graduated with a bachelors of science in business in 1978. She joined the US Air Force as an enlisted in September of 1979. While she was in the US Air Force she was selected and attended officer training school. Air Force duties took her to Spokane Washington where she met Jose Magallon and later married in the year of 1985. After she left the Air Force in September 1983 as a first lieutenant she went to work as a personal director in Good Will Industries in Spokane WA. Chris and her husband relocated to places such as Michigan and Panama before settling in Greenfield CA with their two children Matthew and Miguel Magallon. Chris served on the Greenfield school board for 10 years. She was also a teacher in religious education and a coordinator for Greenfield 4-H. One of her favorite past times was going to the movies and enjoying scenic drives with her family. Chris loved to cook and took pleasure in doing arts and crafts. She was known by her family for her holiday decorations and always making her kids Halloween costumes and creative birthday cakes.

Left to honor and remember her love is Chris husband Jose, two sons Matthew and Miguel Magallon, two step children, Manolito and Melissa Magallon, one step grandchild Willow Magallon, Mother Norma Joan and five siblings, Marsha, Mark, Kieth, Karen and Margaret Mullin. She is preceded by her father Dixie Mullin.

Chris will be remembered as a leader in the community, a devoted mother who was always involved in every aspect of her family lives. She was the shinning light in their lives and her benevolent soul will always live in their hearts and will be forever missed.

Family and friends are invited to join the Magallon family to the viewing on Wednesday August 23, 2017 at Woodyard Funeral in Soledad from 4pm-7pm followed by the rosary 7pm-9pm. Funeral will be held, Thursday August 24, 2017 at 10am at the Greenfield Catholic Church.

Inurnment will follow at a later date at the California Central Coast Veterans Cemetery in Seaside.
