GREENFIELD — Hundreds of residents received a free meal with all the trimmings Sunday afternoon during the annual Greenfield Community Thanksgiving Dinner, presented by the Greenfield City Partnership Nonprofit Organization and the Greenfield Lions Club.
“The Greenfield Thanksgiving event allows us to pay it forward to the community, and make sure every person in our community has a Thanksgiving dinner,” said Allison Steinmann, who co-chairs the event with Lilia Salinas. “… We’re just thrilled. We enjoy doing this because it’s our way to say thank you.”
Members of the Lions Club cooked the dinner, which included turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, biscuits, desserts and more, while Greenfield High School students — who earned community service credit — helped serve those in attendance at the Lions Club Hall. All the supplies were donated by the community as well.
“Thank you to all the support from the community,” Salinas said. “People donated time, especially the high school students, and supplies too.”
