On August 15, 2019, Mr. Jesus Q. Tamayo Sr. died at his home among family. Jesus was born on March 18, 1923 in Amatlán de Cañas, Nayarit, México. He was a resident of Greenfield for 70 years.
He is preceded in death by his wife Elisa (Garza) Tamayo of San Marcos, Texas; his parents, Fidel Tamayo (Father) and Soledad Quintero Tamayo (Mother) of Nayarit, Mexico; his siblings, Guadalupe Tovar Tamayo (sister), Cesario Q. Tamayo (brother) and Bertha Gomez (sister) of Oakland, Calif.; two son-in-law’s, Frank Ortega (Josie) of Greenfield and David Castillo (Carmen) of Greenfield; two grandsons, Ricardo “Cardi” Venegas of King City, Calif. and Jose Jesus “Joselito” Tamayo III of Greenfield.
He is survived by his children, Marie Sylvia Tamayo (Jesus Venegas) of King City, Josephine “Josie” Tamayo (Frank Ortega) of Greenfield, Carmen Yolanda Tamayo (David Castillo) of Greenfield, and Jose Jesus “Jesse” Tamayo Jr. (Bertha Flores Tamayo) of Greenfield. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren.
A Visitation was held from 9am to 10am, Wednesday, August 21, 2019 with a Rosary Service at 10am followed by a Funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Greenfield. Burial services followed in the Holy Trinity Cemetery in Greenfield.
