KING CITY — King City Police Department is currently investigating the city’s fourth shooting in just over a week, circulating a photo of the latest incident’s suspect vehicle taken from security cameras.

According to police, a report of shots fired in the 100 block of South Second Street came in Sunday, Oct. 29, at about 5:24 p.m. Officers were advised that a victim suffering from a single gunshot wound was still on scene.

The victim, identified as a 24-year-old male from King City, was taken to an outside area hospital for treatment. He is currently in stable condition.

Police described the suspect vehicle as a white, four-door 2010 or similar year Dodge Charger, with large aftermarket chrome rims and tinted windows. Still images taken from surveillance footage show the vehicle in the area.

No other details have been released at this time.

Sunday’s attempted murder is the fourth shooting in King City within 10 days, following similar events on Oct. 20, 22 and 24. No one was hurt in those incidents.

Last Tuesday, Oct. 24, at about 5:55 p.m., King City officers responded to reports about shots being fired in the 500 block of Lynn Street.

According to witnesses, three Hispanic men were walking west on Lynn when a silver or white vehicle drove by and began shooting at them before taking off. The victims then flagged down a red car, got in and drove out of sight.

Police said all three victims are known Norteno gang members.

Later that evening, Greenfield Police officers were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 200 block of Fifth Street when the vehicle’s four occupants fled on foot. Two of the subjects were caught — the driver, 25-year-old Saul Garcia Tirado, and one of the passengers, 20-year-old Fransisco Javier Sandoval, both of King City.

Tirado, who was out on parole, was arrested for obstruction, false ID to police and violation of parole. Sandoval, who was on probation, was arrested for obstruction.

“The investigation determined these subjects were the victims of the shooting on the 500 block of Lynn Street,” police said in a news release.

Police are still looking for the other two subjects, who have not been identified.

“Due to the nature of the crime, it is being investigated as a possible gang-related crime at this time,” police said.

The Oct. 22 shooting involved gunshots being fired from a vehicle in the 300 block of Seventh Street that hit the side of a residence and in the 600 block of Luckett Street that struck two unoccupied vehicles. Gunshots were also reported Oct. 20 in the area of Calcagno Street and Long Sing Avenue, though no victims nor suspects were found.

Anyone with information about these cases is encouraged to call King City Police at 831-386-5980, Greenfield Police at 831-674-5111 or the WeTip line at 1-800-78-CRIME. Calls may remain anonymous.
