Joseph was born October 9, 1962 in Salinas, Calif., and had been a lifelong resident of Monterey County. He was employed for over 20 years at California Automotive & Tire in Salinas. He enjoyed barbecuing, fishing, and most all spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years; Frances (Rico) Suniga of Greenfield; son Andrew (Brenda) Suniga of Salinas; grandsons Jeremiah, Alex, and Andrew Suniga Jr, all of Salinas; siblings Guadalupe (Mary) Suniga of Gonzales, Linda (Ernie) Gallardo of Greenfield, Virginia (Doug) Wolf of Wyoming, Johnny (Isabel) Gines of Delano, Michael Suniga of Greenfield; many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his son Joseph Suniga Jr; parents Victor and Ruth Suniga; sisters Dora and Elizabeth; brothers Richard & Marcos; mother-in-law Socorro Chavira.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 6, 2018 from 4 to 7 pm at Woodyard Funeral Home, followed by evening service at 7 pm. Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 12 p.m. followed by burial at Greenfield Cemetery District.
