Highway median barrier, rumble strip project underway

GREENFIELD — A project to construct a median barrier and install inside rumble strips along Highway 101 from the Walnut Avenue overcrossing to north of Hudson Road in the Greenfield area is underway.

Motorists will encounter lane closures northbound Sunday evenings from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. and Monday through Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Daytime roadwork will occur Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. and on Fridays from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Southbound lane closures will be Sunday and Monday evenings from 9 p.m. until 3 p.m. the following afternoon, Monday through Thursday from 7 p.m. until 3 p.m. the following afternoon and Thursday evening from 7 p.m. until 1 p.m. the following afternoon.

Electronic signs will be posted alerting motorists of these lane closures. Motorists can expect delays not to exceed 10 minutes.

The contractor for this $3 million project is Papich Construction of Pismo Beach. This project is expected to be complete by next spring, weather permitting.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
