Herman Mario Delmenico passed away peacefully on March 21, 2018 at Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital in Salinas of congestive heart failure.
Herman was born July 4th, 1932 in Soledad California. He was the 6th child of 9 siblings. He was a 80-year resident of Greenfield, CA. He started farming at the age of 8 years old and took pride in his meticulous fields and productivity. He was a talented engineer and tool maker that generously shared his ideas and techniques with his peers.
Herman Served on the USS Rainier during Korean War. He was one of 4 brothers and 1 sister that served during the 1950’s. He enjoyed serving the community by organizing the Flag Committee to honor our veterans. He acted as Commander for the American Legion and served with the Color Guard and the Lion Club.
Herman started a family with Phyllis Eisfeld in 1955 and had four children. Phyllis past away in 1983. Herman later re-married Brenda Morton who he had spent the last 35 years with.
Herman is survived by his wife Brenda Delmenico, his sisters Lidia Flores and Nancy Duke of Boise Idaho, his 4 children and 2 step children Brenda Guy of Roseville, Vicky Delmenico of Oakland, Carrie Parrish of Greenfield, Danny Delmenico of San Martin, Rocky Morton of Santa Rosa and Robbye Morton of Greenfield and 10 Grandchildren Teresa Isbell, Lisa Hendersen, Christopher Parrish, Mallory Parrish, Dannielle Delmenico, Phyllisha Turner, Jacob Jeffers, Amanda Morton, Cody Morton and Zach Morton and 6 Great Grandchildren Zada Eshbach, Connor Isbell, Ceirra Parrish, Brooks Hendersen, Dean Burgos, Gemma Burgos.
Memorial Service will be held Saturday April 21 at 11am at the Holy Trinity Cemetery, Elm Avenue in Greenfield. Celebration of life following Memorial Service will be held at the Lions Club, Apple Avenue, Greenfield. Memorial Mass will follow at 5pm at Holy Trinity Church El Camino, Greenfield.
