GREENFIELD — More than 600 local students and dozens of their parents recently celebrated Dia del Nino, or Children’s Day, with fun-filled activities at Mary Chapa Academy in Greenfield.
Hosted by the Mary Chapa Parent Teacher Association, the April 25 event featured free pizza, face painting, puppet and slime making and various games. Folklorico dancers also performed, and teachers volunteered their time to run the activities.
The event was also a fundraiser for the PTA, which is working to replace the school playground’s recycled rubber chips with a solid safe floor.
