GREENFIELD — Greenfield City Council has fired City Manager Jaime Fontes during a special meeting Friday night.
In a 3-2 vote, the council passed a motion June 15 to terminate Fontes “without cause.” Mayor Jesus OlveraGarcia and Councilmembers Lance Walker and Leah Santibanez voted yes, while Mayor Pro-tem Avelina Torres and Councilmember Yanely Martinez were the dissenting votes.
Fontes was city manager for just over a year, having started the position last May.
Paul Wood, director of administrative services, will serve as interim city manager.
