Elidía C. Sanchez

Longtime Greenfield resident Elidía C. Sanchez passed away surrounded by loved ones Tuesday, August 29th. 

Lily was born Nov. 17, 1929 in San Marcos Texas, and was raised in Austin Texas. 
In 1947, she moved with her parents, Castulo and Amelia Castillo and her five siblings to California, where they settled in Greenfield. Lily worked hard her whole life to help her family, and then provide for her 11 children. She worked in Agriculture her whole life. From working in the Fruit Orchards, cooking for Braceros in the Labor Camps, and finally becoming a Field Crew Foreman for So. Mo. Co. Labor Supply, where she worked for over 30 years. She ran crews up and down the Salinas Valley, but mainly at Costa Farms in Soledad Ca. She retired in 1994 to relax and spend her days with family, and with her husband of 55 years, Omar Sanchez. 
Lily was preceded in death by her parents Castulo and Amelia (Rivera) Castillo. Her brothers Filimon (Carmen) Castillo, Antonio Castillo, Castulo Castillo Jr., and her sister, Trinidad (Carlos) Landeros. Her sons, David (Carmen) Castillo, and Rudy Castillo.

She is survived by her husband, Omar Sanchez. Her children, Robert Pavia, Gloria Pedraza, Daniel (Letty) Castillo, Richard (Isabel) Castillo, Diana Palacios, Sandra (Richard) Rossetti, Dora (Hector) Mosqueda, Armando (Sylvia) Sanchez, and Laura Taylor. 25 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great, Great Grandchildren. 

Services will be held Tuesday Sept. 5th at Holy Trinity Church in Greenfield Ca. 
Viewing at 8:00am, Rosary at 9:30am, Mass at 10:00am, and Burial immediately following at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
