GREENFIELD — The City of Greenfield is hosting a public “Listening Session” next Wednesday for residents to share their ideas and suggestions for the city’s new police chief.
The city will soon be selecting a new Chief of Police for the Greenfield Police Department — currently led by Interim Police Chief Tony Sollecito — and has requested input from the community that will be used to prepare a job description for the position.
The session is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 30, at 6 p.m. inside the Council Chambers at Greenfield City Hall, 599 El Camino Real. Those in attendance are encouraged to share the types of characteristics, experience, education, qualifications, talents, etc., that they feel are essential for the city’s police chief.
According to City Manager Jaime Fontes, the public can be assured that city staff will listen to these suggestions as they begin the search for qualified applicants.
“A session of this type is essential in ensuring the Chief of Police job description targets a highly-qualified applicant pool that will be a ‘perfect fit’ for our wonderful community,” Fontes said.
