Celebrating Independence

GREENFIELD — Greenfield celebrated Independence Day yesterday with the opening of its newest community park. After eight years in development, the nearly $3 million park on Apple Avenue received a warm welcome from city officials, residents and Greenfield Police Explorers Program members, who helped raise the park’s flag. Other Fourth of July events included live music and activities at Patriot Park and a fireworks show, all of which took place after press deadlines.
