GREENFIELD — More than 40 local workers visited Mary Chapa Academy last Friday for Career Day, during which students learned about various careers in the community.
Each presenter visited three classrooms — from kindergarten through fifth grade — to briefly talk about his or her job.
A total of 42 presenters attended the fifth annual event on Dec. 8, including Greenfield City Manager Jaime Fontes and City Councilmember Yanely Martinez, along with Community Relations Coordinator Beronica Carriedo of Monterey-Salinas Transit and Officer Joseph Dyels of the Greenfield Police Department.
Other presenters included local artists, teachers, contractors and service members.
“It’s a great event that exposes students to career options,” said School Counselor Juana Botello.
