Greenfield News launches new website

GREENFIELD — To keep up with the changing times and growing social media trends, News Media Corporation — parent company of Greenfield News — is rolling out new websites for each of its community newspapers. With a brand-new look and more functionality, the new website at GreenfieldNews.com launched Monday, April 17.

“This is something we’ve been looking forward to for a long time. Our new website will be more user friendly and allow us to provide even more content to our readers,” said Greenfield News General Manager Jeanie Johnson.

Instead of going online to find a snippet of the newspaper’s front-page stories and sports articles, readers will find individual links to stories published in the print edition in addition to more photos, press releases and other submissions that allow for even more community news.

Also, the new website will be more accessible for both readers and the News team, who will be updating the site multiple times a week.

“Being ahead of the curve has been a real focus for us, and something that isn’t easy with a weekly publication,” Johnson said. “The website is the bridge that will get us to our goals in that area. From a news coverage standpoint, this will allow us to provide more up-to-the-minute information to our readers, as well as get that information to them in more ways.”

Breaking news items can now be reported in a more timely fashion, via the website. The newspaper will still cover these items in the print edition but will be capable of getting the basics much sooner to readers.

Besides sports and front-page news, online users can also expect to see obituaries, court logs, police reports, letters to the editor, opinion pieces and seasonal featured content.

In addition, each article on the new website allows for community comments and interaction. Easily shared links will also connect website readers with social media sites, such as Facebook and Twitter.

Current subscribers who would like to have complimentary access to the website, can email cj******@so*******************.com or call 831-385-4880 during business hours, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Non-subscribers will be able to access 10 stories online at no charge per month. To subscribe, contact Greenfield News at 522-B Broadway St. in King City, visit greenfieldnews.com or call 831-385-4880.
