GREENFIELD — South Monterey County Joint Union High School District Superintendent Brian Walker (above left) recognizes recent Greenfield High School graduate Gissel Neri Corcoles for being selected as one of four finalists for the National FFA Organization’s Vegetable Crop Production Proficiency award at the Aug. 23 school board meeting.
She is the first student in the district to achieve this honor, the outcome of which will be announced during the National FFA Convention Oct. 25-28 in Indianapolis.
Fellow Class of 2017 graduate Anthony Camacho was also recognized that evening for winning the National FFA silver medal for Ag Communications Proficiency. Camacho accepted the district’s certificate of recognition via phone.
