Stephen John Pura, 46 of Salinas passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 with his family by his side. He was born, May 30, 1971 in King City.
Stephen loved working on cars and started “helping” his Dad when he was about 4 years old. He was always ready to help his family & friends with odd jobs we had for him. His Mom even had a “sonny do” list! He really enjoyed working with wood and made one-of-a-kind items for family & friends. He worked off and on for many years at Ray’s Small Engine Repair in Greenfield. He was baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in King City.
Stephen is survived by his daughter, Lacie M Pura of Salinas; son, Stephen R Pura of Paso Robles; mother, Debbie (Willie) Bryant of Salinas; father, Randy (Kathy) Pura of King City, Sister Barbara Hicks of King City, Grandmothers Betty Pura & Gwendolin Garrity of King City. He had a special bond with his Aunt Janet Martinez & his cousin Jill Stanford both of King City. He is also survived by his nephew, Travis Hicks and niece, Amanda Hicks, both of King City; aunts and uncles in Texas, New York and Colorado. Stephen is also survived by many cousins and his longtime friends Tricia Bergeron, Michael Franco, Lisa Armer and David Ferreira of Salinas. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Kathryn Myers of New York; grandfathers, Jerome Pura and John Myers, Jr. of King City and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held, 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 6, 2017 at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel, 429 Bassett St. in King City.
