KING CITY — Judges for America in Bloom will be the featured speakers at the annual King City Chamber of Commerce and King City Rotary Club all-American hamburger barbecue luncheon planned for Wednesday, June 7, at San Lorenzo Park at noon at the DeAnza Building.
The purpose of the event is to promote Beautification Week, June 24 through July 2.
Speaking will be Sue Amatangelo and Laurie Waller. Both women will be touring King City the first week in June to produce an “evaluation portfolio” based on AIB criteria to help King City better assess ways to beautify and enhance the hometown in the future. They are being hosted by the recently formed King City in Bloom group of volunteers.
The public is invited to the barbecue, which will feature a hamburger prepared by the King City Rotary Club. Cost is $15 per plate. Reservations can be made by calling the Chamber of Commerce at 385-3814.
Beautification Week is an effort by the King City Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture to improve and preserve the beauty of our community. The week-long promotion asks each business and property owner in town to do one thing to improve the appearance of their property.
