SOUTH COUNTY — South County YMCA launched its annual fundraising campaign Feb. 21 at the Windmill Restaurant in Soledad.
This year the campaign has a goal to raise $42,000 to provide financial assistance to youth, adults and families throughout the region.
According to Executive Director Joe Gonzales, more than $49,720 in financial assistance was provided to South County residents in 2017 for such programs as summer camp, diabetes prevention, membership and more.
“Without this campaign, our financial assistance program would disappear, closing the doors of this essential community center to the thousands of people who need assistance to belong and achieve a healthy spirit, mind and body,” Gonzales said.
South County YMCA serves residents from Chualar to King City, and the campaign has already raised $15,000 currently.
