GREENFIELD — A shooting near Rite Aid in Greenfield on Sunday night has left one dead and another injured, according to investigators from the South County Major Crimes Investigations Unit.
At about 9:05 p.m. on March 1, Greenfield police officers responded to reports of a shooting outside the drugstore at 650 Walnut Ave., where two people had been struck by gunfire. One of the victims died from their injuries at a local hospital, while the other is “expected to survive,” police said.
No other details have been released.
“The investigation into the incident is ongoing,” police said.
