GREENFIELD — Hartnell distance runner and Greenfield resident Jaime Garcia edged 15-year-old Luis Martinez to be crowned the overall winner of the 2017 Harvest Run Sunday morning in Greenfield. Garcia also won the 16-25 age group and Martinez was the winner of the 15 and under age group.
The race began on Palm Avenue at 9 a.m. and included a 5K race and one mile kids run that was run on the streets of El Camino Real. Garcia won the race in 16:07 followed by Martinez in 16:10. Martinez edged out 25-50 age group winner Pablo Montana who finished in a time of 16:11. Greenfield Mayor Jesus OlveraGarcia represented the city finishing 15th overall in a time of 22:41.
Janette Iniguez was the first overall winner in the women’s race, covering the race in a time of 19:01. Iniguez edged second place finisher Beatriz Sanchez who finished the race in 19:18. Karen Park of King City won the 50 and over age group in a time of 25:09.
