SOLEDAD — A minimum-security inmate who walked away Sunday from the minimum-support facility at Salinas Valley State Prison has been apprehended.
Brian Martin, 22, was apprehended at about 11:30 a.m. Monday, April 10, in Gonzales by officers from the Gonzales Police Department. He was taken into custody without incident and returned to the prison.

Martin was reported missing at about 8:45 p.m. April 9. Agents from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation’s Office of Correctional Safety, the prison’s Investigative Services Unit, Crisis Response Team, local law enforcement agencies and the California Highway Patrol all assisted in the search.
Martin was committed on Feb. 5, 2015, from Butte County to serve a six-year sentence for burglary and receiving stolen property.
