SOUTH COUNTY — A multi-agency law enforcement operation focused on community safety and the reduction of gang and violent crime was conducted this week in Greenfield, leading to multiple arrests for warrants and parole and probation violations.
The April 18 operation involved 51 officers from seven local state and federal agencies, including the Greenfield Police Department, King City Police Department, Monterey County Probation Department, California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, CDCR State Parole Agents, Monterey County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service.
Arrest warrant service as well as probation, parole and sex offender compliance checks were part of the operation, which took place in south Monterey County. A total of 21 probation and 10 parole compliance checks were conducted, in addition to three arrests for violation of parole, two for violation of probation, three for warrants and one for a misdemeanor.
“The objective of this operation was to address community safety and reduce violent crime in our communities,” police said in a news release.
During an arrest warrant service in the 41000 block of 14th Street in Greenfield, police found 73 large blocks of individually packaged marijuana, along with a digital scale, narcotics packaging materials, $80,892 in cash and a rifle.
Maria Zambrano, 32, was arrested on charges of felony possession of marijuana for sales and felony child endangerment.
