King City multi-jumper Dylan Oliveros placed third for the Mustang boys in the triple jump at Saturday’s King City Lions’ and Young Farmers’ 74th Invitational Track Meet.

SOUTH COUNTY — With wins in four events and multiple points in many events the King City High frosh-soph boys track team won their division at the King City Lions’ and Young Farmers’ 74th Invitational Track Meet. Esteban Deniz led the Broncos with wins in the 1600 and 3200.
Ashton Headley won the shotput and Dominic Conricode was the winner of the 65 hurdles. Sprinter Bryce McEwen led in the sprints with second place finishes in the 100 and 200 meters.
The Soledad girls track team placed second with 55.5 points behind girls winner San Benito (Hollister), and the Aztecs were led by first place finishes by Noora Hautamaki in the triple jump, long jump, and shot put. Hautamaki established a meet record in the long jump with a best of 17-9. The previous record of 17-7 was held by Denise Cornell of King City and has been on the record boards since 1975.
“We had a good turnout for our meet,” said Meet Director David Daines. “The meet ran smooth because of all the help we had and the bad weather stayed away for most of the day.”
