GREENFIELD — Greenfield High School and the Greenfield Community Center were the lucky recipients of 30 laptop computers donated by Gabe Trujillo.
Trujillo, an alumnus from Greenfield High, works in San Francisco with Sift Science, which donates laptops to students.
Greenfield High School’s design class received 15 MacBook Air laptop computers with chargers, and the Community Center at Patriot Park also received a donation of 15 MacBook Airs.
“Sift Science is an incredible company,” said Greenfield Council Member Angela Untalon, who helped distribute the computers to the chosen organizations. “Gabe Trujillo has definitely kept his hometown close to his heart.”
Untalon visited Sift Science in January and was very appreciative of the donations Trujillo made to both the Community Center and Greenfield High School.
“When Sift Science gave me the opportunity to donate their retired laptops, I couldn’t think of a better person to help distribute them in my hometown than Council Member Angela Untalon,” Trujillo said.
Trujillo added, “We wanted to give the kids an opportunity to educate their minds through technology, from helping the art design class upgrade their equipment to students being able to go to the rec center to do their homework.”
