Bruins lose to Aztecs

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield High boys basketball is 0-10 in the Mission Trail Athletic League as they lost three games last week to Soledad, Pacific Grove and Oakwood.

The Bruins began the week with a 59-42 setback at Soledad where they fell behind 18-17 in the first half. Greenfield trailed 45 to 25 at the end of the third quarter.

Angel Espinosa led the Bruins in scoring with 10 points and nine rebounds and converted one 3-point basket.

Oscar Villagomez added nine points and had two rebounds, two assists, and made three steals. Angel Villagomez scored nine points with five rebounds and had an assist.

Freshman Ernesto Martinez scored nine points with four rebounds, five steals, and two assists.

Pacific Grove defeated the host Bruins 54-26, and Oakwood defeated Greenfield 75-31.

The Bruins hosted Trinity Christian last night and will host Robert Louis Stevenson tomorrow.
