Sarah L. Blomquist

Sarah L. Blomquist, age 85, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Vienna Nursing & Rehab Center in Lodi CA.

Sarah was one of 10 children from Asa N. & Florence Lee (Jones) Stephens. She was born in Cherry Valley, Arkansas on March 21, 1932.

She is preceded in death by her late husband – Arthur Blomquist, her brothers, J. W. Stephens, Walter Stephens, T. A. Stephens & Hurshel Nathaniel (Buck) Stephens.

She has one surviving sister, Norma Jean Pace residing in Andrews, Texas & one surviving brother James Melvin Stephens in Ohio as well as many nieces & nephews.

Sarah was a loving wife to her late husband, Arthur Blomquist. Together they owned and operated Blomquist Farms in Greenfield CA for many years. After her husband’s passing, Sarah sold the farm and became an active member in the Good Sam Camping Club. She traveled around the United States with her Club partner Earl Irons & her little Chihuahua dogs; she took them everywhere with her.

Sarah was a dedicated farmer’s wife, an excellent seamstress, an accomplished quilter, loved organizing and decorating for large events. She was talented in many service skills. When she was home, she was an active member in her Church. Bingo was a favorite past-time for her.

Sarah’s cremated remains will be buried next to her late husband, Arthur Blomquist, in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Salinas, CA.

There will be no formal visitation or services.
