Obituary | Dessie Burpo

Dessie Marie Williams Burpo, 86 of Greenfield passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Stanford Medical Center with her family by her side. Dessie was born October 10, 1931 in Mulhall, Logan County, Oklahoma.

She was married to the love of her life, Gene for 68 years. She loved to crochet, making Afghans for family members and friends. She loved crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, loved taking care of her flowers and was an avid reader. She loved reading her bible, her faith sustaining her through good times and bad, her favorite chapter being Psalms 91. Dessie has attended Family Christian Center for years, thankful for her church family. She was a member of TOPS Club for many years, serving as treasurer. Dessie was an avid 49’er fan and ran the family football pool.

Dessie is survived by her husband, Gene Burpo; her daughters, Kathy (Bob) Woodworth, Phyllis, Norma and Tricia (Ed) Frye; 4 grandkids, 12 great grandkids and 4 great-great grandkids; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and wonderful neighbors and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, John R. Williams and Carrie Nugent Williams and her 13 siblings.

A Viewing was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel, 429 Bassett St., King City. A Funeral Service was held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 21, 2018 at Eddington Funeral Services Chapel, and Dessie was laid to rest in King City District Cemetery following the chapel service.
