Day of the Dead event celebrates ancestors through art

GREENFIELD — All things Dia de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead, hit the Greenfield Cultural Arts Center on Nov. 2.

The Arts Center was taken over with face painting honoring those who have passed on and those who are left behind remembering them.

Along with face painting and coloring in the form of skeletons, the Arts Center prepared food for visitors and presented dancing by Arcoiris Cultural.

Several altars were in the second room of the Arts Center, including one to the Saavedra family, with pictures of family members and their favorite things, food, drinks and other.
